FAQs

How can i make the most of my session?

A phenomenal massage is a two-way road. The therapist must be a skilled giver and the client must be a skilled receiver. These are the steps skilled receivers follow:

  • Use your massage therapy as a form of positive reinforcement, upon completion of a short term goal per se, or simply when is that time for treating yourself.

  • Book your session ahead of time! Ideally at least 24 hours in advance. Fill out your intake forms. It’s nice having something to look forward to.

  • We can accommodate a last minute booking by 1pm.

  • Fasting for at least two hours prior to your session is highly recommended. Show up ten mins early; have a seat on the waiting area.

  • Silence your phone. Use the bathroom before checking in.

What should i expect during my treatment?

  • A five mins consultation is conducted based on the information provided on the intake form.

  • Our treatment room is a safe space! In the event of sexual misconduct, the session will be terminated and the person will be asked to leave immediately. If for any reason, both the client or their therapist feel uncomfortable during the massage, they should ask to end the session and the session must be ended instantly.

  • Clients are asked to undress up to their comfort level, with or without underwear is perfectly fine, and get under the drapes over a SPA table that adjusts to the spinal curvatures. Half of your session will be facing down and half of your session will be facing up. Clients with special accommodations might be asked to lay on a fetal or sideline positions for a better application of the techniques. Time starts counting down once that hands are on the body.

  • Clients are encouraged to avoid voluntary movements as much as possible during treatment, and to breathe deeply with natural flow. Your limbs will be lifted by your therapist. Unscented grape seed oil will be used. It’s not uncommon to get nasal congestion while facing down. We have plenty of tissues and breathing therapy essential oils that will help you be comfortable.

  • Once that hands are on the body, contact will never be disrupted. There will be no brusque or sudden movements. Pressure level will be applied gradually and evenly. Your therapist will ensure you’re getting just the right amount. The motion of the strokes goes at a really slow pace, one inch of muscle tissue per minute.

Are there any potential side effects or risks associated with massage therapy?

There is a downtime for every massage treatment. Depending on the intensity of the pressure used in your session, you could experience muscle soreness combined with relief. People generally feel ready to go to bed shortly after their session or simply would need to take a nap. The body gets sleepy when it enters in detox mode. Don’t forget to drink plenty water shortly after your session. It will help flush byproducts away.

Massage should be contraindicated in the presence of systemic or viral infections. Specially when the client is showing signs of immunological responses. People should avoid taking high blood pressure medications shortly before their sessions. Do not have more than one drink of alcohol before getting a massage as this will impair your ability to drive.
